Christs Friendship: Its Origin, Day 26

Key Scripture:
John 15:13. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Key Idea:
Our relation to Christ is one of love. In speaking of this previously, He showed us what His love was in its heavenly glory; the same love with which the Father had loved Him. Here we have it in its earthly manifestation–lay down His life for us.
— Murray

Pray for revelation:
His life for His friends. How wonderful the lessons of the Vine, giving its very life to its branches! And Jesus gave His life for His friends. And that love gives itself to them and in them. My heavenly Vine, oh, teach me how wholly Thou longest to live in me!
— Murray

Key words:
Friends

What a deep concept. Jesus calls us friends, and reveals the deepest expression of friendship. He gave up his life for each of us.

Love is heavenly and glorious, but sometimes while on earth, love can be hard. Especially when our loved ones stray into places they shouldn’t be.

Love can be both difficult to give, and to recieve. Like the man who said, “Lord I believe, help my unbelief.” We need to love as much as we can, but pray that Jesus covers the needs we have when our strength to love grows weak.

His love and strength is the source of our power.
