I’ve made a few modifications and updates to it. Mostly changes that expand the branch of Jesse Albert Heltsley. More could be made, but I chose not to go to the 8th and 9th levels. Acctually there are probably as many as 10 and 11 levels now. If any information is inaccurate, or can be filled out with more detail, let me know so I can take care of it. Thanks to Linda Sue Clark-Brown who did all the hard work of putting all this together.

He married (1) Lydia Helen Welborn December 21, 1873 in Todd County, Kentucky. He married (2) Sarah Ann Mansfield June 14, 1894 in Muhlenberg Co. Kentucky.

Marriage Notes: Possibly James had a second wife. Bessie’s birthdate is after the death of Lydia. Also, it has always been known that Bessie was Pearl’s 1/2 sister.

Notes: Paul was killed in accident at plant he worked in. An engine, we were told dropped off a chain and crushed him.

Note: Jesse served in the Army just after World War 1, was a coal miner and a mechanic and died Jan 10, 1950 in Marion, Williamson County Illinois.

She married John William Lehr September 15, 1984 in Anna, Illinois.

7 – 45.1 Wilma. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) married Kenneth Motsinger.

Note: Wilma and Kenneth lived much of the time in Wood River, Illinois. After Kenneth’s death of cancer, she moved to be with relatives in Kentucky.

Child of Wilma and Kenneth Motsinger is:

• Sandra Kay. Married twice and has 3 children.

7 – 45.2. Dorothy. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) married William Travelstead.

Note: Dorothy and William mostly lived in various places in Illinois. As they raised their children, he was a salesman.

7- 45.3. Katherine. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) married to a man named Ford.

Child of Katherine Ford is:

• daughter. (Married name is Scot.)

7 – 45.4. Harry Lee Heltsley. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) born in Williamson County Illinois. First wife, Marion. Second wife Mary Kilpatrick. He had two sons, no children by his second wife.

Note: Harry was in the Army around the time of the Korean war. He drove a truck for most of his life, and eventually settled in Minnesota. He passed away of a stroke, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Note: Was named Jackie at birth, but later had his name legally changed to Jack. Married, moved to Iowa, and helped his wife in running a family furniture store.

7 – 45.6. S. Dale. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) born in 1936. Married Norma Butz.

Note: Dale was in the Army in the mid-1950’s, and stationed in Germany. He drove a truck for many years, as well as working for the city of Marion, Illinois.

Children of Dale and Norma are:

• Dale Edward. born 1961.
• Mark Randall, born 1963. Killed in auto accident.

7 – 45.7. Carl Ray Heltsley. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) born Feb 24, 1939. Married to Mary Kay Wood of Bunker Hill, Indiana while in the Air Force, on Feb 24, 1962. Died August 1995 in Madison County, Illinois.

Note: After serving in the Air Force, Carl lived most of his life in South Roxana, Illinois. He was a custodian for the local school and was killed by a drunk driver while on his motorcycle.

Children of Carl And Mary Kay are:

• Keith Eric. born Oct. 31, 1962. (married, has 4 sons.)

7 – 45.8. Sue Ann. (Jesse Albert6, Ezra Coleman5, James Madison4, John Henry3, John2 Helsley, Jacob1) Married a man named Odum, Second husband is Sam (Salvadore) Laviti. Third husband is to Eiselman.

Note: Sue’s second husband adopted her earlier children so they legally have his name, Laviti. No Children from her third husband.
