From the Archives of Email Sent to My Podcast, That Sounds Funny
Hi there Keith, Terry, and Jill!
We had a variety of appointments and errands to run in St. Louis. First, we dropped off our son for his doctor’s appointment, then took our young grandson to the mall so I could visit the Apple Store to get a Bluetooth keyboard fixed.
Everything went smoothly, and my mall trip wrapped up just as our son finished his appointment. By this time, rush hour was in full swing, and Grandma Robin was busy fighting her way through traffic.
To keep our 4-year-old grandson occupied, I let him play games on my iPhone. He already knows his way around the phone and can easily find his favorite games. One of them is a game where you tap a picture of an animal or vehicle, and it plays the corresponding sound—featuring barnyard animals, jungle creatures, trains, planes, cars, and the like.
Suddenly, the blare of a police siren filled the air! Grandma Robin began frantically scanning the mirrors to spot where the emergency vehicle was coming from, trying to find a safe spot to pull over on the busy highway.
A moment later, the siren stopped and switched to the sound of another vehicle—and I realized it was just coming from my phone. I couldn’t help but laugh as Grandma took a moment to recompose herself and refocus on driving.
She only had a few heart palpitations to recover from, and thankfully, no major mess to clean up!
