Starting a New Year and Getting Caught Up

A long awaited update. I’ve been intending to post something for a few months. Since the big Heltsley reunion last Labor Day. Well, it was actually rescheduled to September so we couled have it the same weekend as the Terry and Terry wedding. By now, the date escapes me, but I’ll bet you could ask Terry.

Since those festivities, there have been the usual holidays, Kids and grandkids growing, crawling, walking, and… No! Get away from there! Put that down!

I’ve been busy with the podcast. Just have a look at the sidebar, where I put a listing of the latest few posts. Plus I’ve been finding myself somewhat active on Twitter, and occasionally on Facebook.

We’ve started the year on some good changes. New jobs, and for some even pay raises on the job. I’m still waiting a decision from the VA about recieving a compensation. The same foot dragging and red tape that have marked the beginning of the last two years running. It’s just a matter to submit the paperwork in whatever way bureaucrats understand to connect the dots to active service to disabled. Doctors get it, everybody I mention it to gets it, but the decision makers who hide in distant offices apparently need the right verbiage on paper to get it.

Maybe they will. Maybe they won’t, but even if they don’t there’s still room to escalate this thing. I just hope it won’t go there.

To end on a positive note. I’ll try to make this a year of more frequent updates, and short news blurbds as they happen.
