In the December 2005 issue of Discover Magazine, as in just about any issue, there was a notable article on the hazards of Global Warming. Preaching how it is a bad thing and we are all killing off our planet's atmosphere, if it doesn't stop we are all going to die. Not that that isn't quite a serious topic, but the things we do to make the globe warmer seems to be related to the fact that we put excess carbon and methane emmissions into the air.
That means we burn stuff, breathe and fart. And we do it all so well. People have always burned things in cooking and heating fires to create carbon. Not to mention breathing, and that all animals and decomposing things produce methane and other gasses. We've all done it for years, it is just that in modern times we have been doing it so much better and efficiently. What are we to do? How can we fix the problem?
Then there was this other article. They have found that Mars has a water table just under it's surface. An ice table really. Certain scientists are trying to encourage a push for manned missions to Mars since they now have one of the most important elements to support human life already on the planet, water.
One thing to consider though is that Mars is much further from the sun and is also much more cold than Earth.
Then it hit me. Just start sending people, and animals to Mars and get Global Warming going. Before long, with all that breathing and passing of gass and burning things like fossil fuels, global warming on Mars can start up. The planet will be inhabitable in no time.
I think it just might work.
